Lady Lions Volleyball Senior Night

Lady Lions Varsity Volleyball Sweeps Booker T. Washington for Senior Night Victory

By Matthew Richards

A sisterhood. A sisterhood that has been carefully cultivated through a number of rigorous tests and trials to form unbreakable bonds and palpable chemistry. That chemistry was on full display on Tuesday for the Class of 2020 as the Lady Lions Varsity Volleyball Team celebrated Senior Night against the Booker T. Washington Lions. The 2019-2020 team boasted seven seniors this year: Luciana Bridges, Nina Kirsch, Camryn Marshall, India Miller, Courtney Nero, Sophia Parker, and Caroline Stroebel.

The Lady Lions started the night off with the Senior Night celebrations in front of a raucous crowd that provided an atmosphere that was brimming with excitement and anticipation for the game. The girls did not disappoint their adoring fans on this special night, scoring a dominating straight set victory (3-0) by final scores of 25-8, 25-11, and 25-16. Head Coach Sean Gispert was thrilled with the victory and said, “I feel really thankful that tonight, of course, Senior Night, they came together and collectively put their best foot forward. I’m just really happy for the girls, because I feel like they deserved this since we worked for it all season.”

Coach Carolyn Smith was also delighted with the team’s performance, saying, “I’m glad to see all the pieces fit together. Everything finally clicked, and we came out with a win.”  The win gives the Lady Lions some positive momentum as the season reaches its conclusion and preparation for the playoffs gets in full swing. We wish the Lady Lions and the Class of 2020 nothing but success in both their future games and beyond.

Go, Lady Lions!
